Dollar Tree-Any Fresno store

23 Sep

0 of 5 Stars

I almost dread having to go to this store.

Not because I will go in for 1 or 2 items, pick up whatever I fancy, all along saying, “hmm, it’s only a $1” & come out with more than $20 of items ;P

It’s also not  because the ghetto-ness varies from store to store; But if you have to go with toddlers or babies-Plan ahead!

This is a VERY un-baby friendly store.

Very, VERY rarely will you find a Dollar Tree store where they will allow you use of a public restroom, which therefore takes away any changing table (which they don’t have anyways), & FORGET anywhere to nurse!

So in (very) short, Not baby/toddler/Nursing Friendly. You’re better off almost anywhere else :-/

If you’ve been to a Dollar Tree Store & had a better experience, PLEASE, let us know which one 🙂

Me N Eds-7080 N. Cedar Ave.

9 Jan
Outside Sign7080 N. Cedar Ave. Fresno, CA 93720
1 Star out of 5 Stars
Pros:
  • Have high chairs
  • If your child is noisy, it’s not really an issue.
Cons:
  • No booster seat
  • No Changer
  • High chair cannot be turned upside down for a car seat
  • No car seat sling
  • No Nursing area.

Personal Experience:

I think the atmosphere of a place & how comfortable you feel w/your child makes a difference in each place that is visited. Since our son is older, the place was fine for him to walk around, look at toy/candy vending machines & not disturb others as he walks past them &/or waves : D There are some booths, so a car seat could go in one of those & if REALLY needed you could always use the bench seats as a changing table. Although my husband & I try not to do that in restaurants, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to take off that poo! = P

Buy Buy Baby

7458 N. Blackstone Ave. Fresno, CA 93720

5 1/2 Stars out of 5

Pros:

  • Have a WONDERFUL nursing room
  • Changing table in nursing room
  • Have a child seat in the handicap- so you can buckle your child in & not have to worry about them while you use the restroom, GENIUS!
  • The staff is INCREDIBLY helpful!! I mean so helpful I thought maybe they were getting a commission or something!

Cons:

  • It’s not a restaurant that you can also eat there w/ the same conveniences you can use while you shop
  • No rewards program

Personal Experience:

Ok, I am not being paid to write any of these reviews, but I can not rave enough about this place!

I LOVE going to this store. I kid you not, I would plan my errands & trips around this place.

This store has THEE best freakin nursing room I have EVER utilized! Ever. The environment is tranquil, CLEAN, & com-for-ta-ble!! Now when you think that they sell this stuff, so how hard was it for them to put it in a specific room. YET, there are other stores that sell these SAME items & DON’T do the same thing *cough-babies r’ us*

At one point I literally would take all of my babies r’ us ads into this store to buy my stuff because I got a taste of the good life, a wonderful nursing room! hahaha, ok I know I’m going on & on about it, but especially when you’re a new frazzled mom, having a great nursing room where you can relax for a feeding is just one of the best things you can get as a mom.

The staff is incredibly helpful & knowledgeable, they are very professional & make you feel like a valued customer.

Regal Manchester Stadium 16 (Signature Theater)

12 Oct

            2055 E. Shields Ave. Fresno, CA 93726

4 Stars out of 5 Stars

Pros:

  • Have changing table in bathroom
  • Have booster seats (who knew!?)
  • Can park your stroller next to your seat in the front rows

Cons:

  • No designated nursing room
  • The sound of the movies can be REALLY loud, especially for little ears.

Personal Experience:

Taking babies or small children can get controversial amongst movie go-ers. When they are small they are more portable, sleep longer & don’t want to run up & down the aisles. BUT, the movies can be VERY loud for them which is why some people have them wear something to block some of the sound. While there is no designated nursing room, the theater is dark enough that you feel you have some privacy…hoping no stranger is sitting right next to you : p

Depending on the movie (kids movie or not) people will tolerate some noise from your kids, but non-kid movies…not too much.

I’d say this theater is about as kid/baby friendly a movie theater can be.

Big Fresno Fair-Nursing Room

5 Oct
This is a special FYI to all nursing mommies,
Here’s a bit of exciting or good news; the Big Fresno Fair will have a special “Mommy Zone”  just for breastfeeding moms. It will be a private, air-conditioned space for moms to feed and change their babies.
How great is that!!!
It’s located near the Found Children’s Gingerbread House just inside the Westamerica Bank Gate Entrance on Chance Ave. So you can plan a nursing trip around your famous fair corn dog, cinnamon roll or mmm, deep fried ice cream!   : D
If you use it, let us know about how comfortable it was for you! =)

Denny’s

3 Oct

“hmmm…what to order??”

530 S. Clovis Ave. Fresno

4 1/2 out of 5 Stars

Pros:

  • Have high chairs
  • Have boosters
  • Can turn high chairs upside down to put a car seat in
  • Changing tables in BOTH men & women’s restroom
  • Loud enough that if your kids is babbling or making noise, it’s not a big deal, but not so loud that you get a headache
  • Kids menu
  • Kids eat free on certain days w/a paid adult entrée.

Cons:

  • No nursing area

Personal Experience:

On this particular occasion it was FREEZING inside. Which for the restaurant, the a/c is only off or on, not temp controlled & apparently the heat is the same in the wintertime-all or nothing. I thankfully keep  a couple of blankets in the car for my son. The waitress was very kind & when we told her the high chair was sticky she wiped it down for us quickly & helpfully. She was very mindful of my son & tried to make him comfortable as well.

Other than the freezing temperature, the meal & experience was good. BUT Because of the not having an area to nurse, I couldn’t give them a full 5 stars.

I Love Sushi

16 Sep

465 W. Shaw Avenue  Clovis, CA 93612

3 1/2 Out of 5 Stars

Pros:

  • Have High chairs
  • Have Boosters
  • Loud enough for children but won’t give you a headache.
  • Changing tables in BOTH men & women’s restroom.

Cons:

  • There’s not really room to put car seat in booth & the chairs are too small for that as well.
  • The high chairs can be turned upside down so that u can put the  car seat on the chair but its on a slight tilt so you would have to make sure NOBODY pushes it and that you are RIGHT next to the baby. It’s a little too dangerous for me & I’m too nervous to risk that.
  • No nursing area. The tables are too uncomfortable to nurse at & if you can get a booth in the back, that’ll help, just be sure to not get in view of the tinted window next to you.

Personal Experience:

The name of the restaurant matches how I personally feel when I think of sushi (*sigh 🙂 I have always had a generally good experience there as well. On this particular occasion our waitress was Judy, VERY sweet girl but in general the staff is nice & accommodating. Any questions I had, especially regarding for my child, they were happy to help.

I wish I could rate this place a little higher but as a nursing mother it is not very comfortable & I would have to say that it is more kid friendly rather than baby friendly.

Mor furniture

8 Sep
5156 N. Blackstone Ave.  Fresno, CA 93710
4 stars out of 5
Pros:
  • Long counter in women’s restroom you can use as changer.
  • Nursing room, but no chair in there
  • Popcorn machine, soda & cookies
  • Plenty of couches to sit on or kids to crawl up & down off of
  • Baby changer in mens restroom w/a shelf next to it to place your stuff on.
Cons:
Of course the place is not baby proofed (not expecting that) but for children who are early walkers the sharp corners on tables are a caution. As well as lamps & other expensive furnishings mean you’ll have to keep your third eye on them to make sure you’re not buying any “extra” items 🙂
  • Didn’t see a changer, you can use the long counter but obviously there are no safety straps.
All in all it is pretty child, baby & parent friendly 🙂

Sweet Tomatoes

8 Sep

7114 N. Fresno Street  Fresno, CA 93720

3 1/2 Out of 5 Stars

Pros:

  • Have changing table in the handicap bathroom stall.
  • Changing table in Men’s handicap bathroom stall as well.
  • Have baby chairs
  • Have high chairs

*Update

  • They also have disposable bibs, which if you’ve forgotten them is a GREAT help at a buffet : D

Cons:

  • When its crowded, its feels like your child’s baby or high chair is in people’s walking space.
  • No nursing area

Personal Experience:

Taking a baby is kind of difficult as you feel your child is on the way wherever their seat is. There is nowhere to nurse & on the average it is a quiet restaurant. This place has great nutritious food & the variety is great to be able to offer to kids. The place is very clean & we love to go there. They try to make mommies w kiddies & families feel welcome, which goes a long way. But I would have to say it is more KID friendly rather than baby friendly.
